10 Upcoming Video Game Sequels Nobody Asked For
9. Dead Island 2
2011's Dead Island released to solid sales and reviews, but many gamers expressed disappointment that the end result was a world away from that devastating original teaser trailer. Any potential emotion was ripped out of the final game and replaced with a shallow - if fitfully entertaining - action RPG that was overly repetitive and ultimately just OK.
A more upbeat, silly sequel was confirmed at E3 2014, but considering how many zombies games are out there, do we really need another, especially one that's a sequel to a fairly mediocre original, and isn't even being developed by the same team? We could all do without this one, surely?
Could It Be Any Good?: It's safe to say that things aren't looking sunny so far, considering Dead Island 2 was originally supposed to land over a year ago, and original developer Yager were dropped in favour of Sumo Digital last summer. Perhaps it can be saved, or maybe this is simply a sign that the game conceptually isn't working.
It would surprise roughly no-one if the game became vapourware, and honestly, would anyone care all that much?
