10 Upcoming Video Games Bioshock Fans Will LOVE
3. Close To The Sun
Developed by indie game studio Storm in a Teacup, Close to the Sun is clearly a love letter to the Bioshock series of games. Even a cursory glance at the recent Gamescom trailer will reveal that 2K Boston’s seminal 2007 horror FPS classic was the number one inspiration behind this upcoming release.
Set on some sort of cruise ship and involving famed twentieth century inventor Nikola Tesla, Close to the Sun seems to outright copy the terrifyingly gorgeous underwater world of Rapture, right down to the blood-splatter messages and deranged citizens.
Though this game perports itself to be Bioshock’s twin, there seem to be several key differences, the most important being the fact that there doesn’t seem to be much of an emphasis on combat, or any real combat at all.
That’s not an inherently bad thing, of course, and fans of the so-called shock series absolutely need to check this game out when it releases sometime in 2019. Given that there isn't likely to be a new Bioshock game on the horizon any time soon, this could serve as an adequate replacement.
