2. Star Wars Battlefront
OK, so Star Wars Battlefront at this point is little more than a title, albeit one loaded with promise. A long time ago (well, OK about 8 years ago) in a galaxy rather close, there was a game. It was basically a re-skinned rip-off the Battlefield series, but the skin that it wore was that of the never-ending space- saga Star Wars, so we'll forget that it was a poor copy and pretend it was awesome. A complex turn of events (not quite as complex as the nonsensical trade shenanigans of Episode I I'll admit) saw Disney buy-out Lucasarts, potentially saving Star Wars games from years of mediocrity. A fan clamor arose to see the Battlefront games revived and in a pleasant twist, the license was handed off to EA subsidiary DICE - the Swedish studio responsible for creating the Battlefield series in the first place. So basically, the masters of creating gigantic destruction filled warfare have been given one of the most enticing and ever-popular licenses in existence. If this game isn't amazing, lots of people will probably get very angry on the interwebs and you'll probably get to see lots of cosplaying Stormtroopers crying. But we have faith in DICE, this is too good an opportunity to mess up, the pieces all seem to fit in place perfectly and if the execution is as good as the concept, we could be in for a very special game indeed.
