10 Upcoming Video Games Doomed To Disappoint
8. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Nov 5)
The Call of Duty franchise managed to revitalise itself in style with Call of Duty: Black Ops II last year, and much attention has been paid to the direction the franchise will take as it leaps to next-gen consoles this year with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Though the use of an upgraded engine has allowed for superior visuals, one can't help but feel that the game is going to be compromised by a need to cater to the current-gen crowd as well, who will no doubt still account for the majority of the title's sales.
Activision already freely admitted that this would be the first year where their game likely wouldn't see astronomical sales figures due to the next-gen switch, but for me, the problem is that what we've seen so far just doesn't look that next-gen at all.
Compare this game to the likes of Battlefield IV and Killzone: Shadow Fall, and it just doesn't measure up. The franchise won't truly feel next-gen until all of its resources are devoted to it, rather than attempting to pacify current-gen audiences at the same time.
