10 Upcoming Video Games That Will DEFINITELY Be Cross-Gen

A no brainer here; the 2020 or 2021 version of all of the popular sports sims will definitely be cross gen features.

These games launch like clockwork close to the beginning of their respective seasons, so whether they’ll be launch titles probably depends on when the consoles themselves drop. These games tend to just tick on each year, offering mild graphical improvements and occasional tweaks to game modes.

Undoubtedly the elevation between the graphics on the PS4 to the PS5 will be a bigger jump than usual, but there’s definitely not as much glitz to this as other games. Because the games don’t have the blockbuster element that shooters and RPGs do, sports sims are unlikely to be the poster child for the next generation.

That said, they’re a massive draw for more casual players who might only buy a couple of games a year, not to mention being huge money spinners with the likes of Ultimate Team.

These games won’t want to miss out on the next gen, as that’s a damning statement against the so-called revolutions they push each year. They also won’t dare miss out in the current gen market, as a lot of their base aren’t early adopters.
