10 Upcoming Video Games We're Most Worried About

6. Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order

Like Halo, the very name ‘Star Wars’ used to be a staple of quality. Also like Halo, that’s definitely not the case these days. Recent entries into the film franchise have been divisive and have moved Star Wars into a slightly different direction, but there’s no real ‘changing the formula, appealing to non-fans’ controversy making anyone worried here. It just looks a bit bland.

Nowhere is that embodied more fiercely than by protagonist Cal Kestis, a young Padawan with no distinguishing features whatsoever. We've seen no personality, no attitude, nothing memorable at all from Cal so far.

If you asked a bunch of people who've never played a game before to design a video game character, they'd probably come back to you with Cal.

To go back to the Halo comparison briefly, one major difference is that following Apex Legends and Titanfall, developers Respawn have earned some leeway recently. Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order looks to be a standard tale with a generic character, but Respawn have pushed boundaries recently. Maybe The Fallen Order will spring a surprise on us?

Until then though, the inescapably bland trailers and lack of proper lightsaber action have left everyone feeling a little nervous.
