The long-awaited sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines began development in 2016, and has continuously stalled due to various key team members exiting the project, as well as original developer Hardsuit Labs being dismissed in 2021.

The situation was dire enough that Paradox Interactive considered cancelling the game outright, but ultimately decided to forge on ahead, with The Chinese Room confirmed to be finishing development in late 2023.

Updates have been sporadic over the last few years despite an apparent 2024 release date, though earlier this year a new gameplay glimpse left many fans crestfallen.

To be blunt, the game looks rough from a visuals and gameplay standpoint, enough that even many of the series' hardcore fans vowed that they were no longer interested in it.

Given that Vampire: The Masquerade is already a niche franchise as it is, that's an incredibly bad look, and makes it highly unlikely that the game will manage to turn a profit when it finally releases.
