10 Upcoming Video Games Which Are Already Doomed

2. Concord

Concord Game
Sony

Concord is Sony's next big attempt to break into the "live service" gaming space, and it sure is looking the game is cooked before it's even hit storefronts.

The formal gameplay unveiling back in May went down like a lead balloon, with many disappointed that the glossy opening cinematic teed up a rather generic-looking Overwatch-esque hero shooter, rather than a story-driven single-player game.

But there was every possibility for Concord to prove the "haters" wrong and carve out a niche for itself in the competitive online shooter space, right?

Well, it all went horribly wrong when the game's recent open beta peaked at just 2,388 concurrent players on Steam - that's often less than 10% of what the relatively maligned Overwatch 2 pulls in daily.

The beta's low uptake simply signals a patent lack of interest in Concord, which while basically competent, doesn't seem to offer much fresh in the hero shooter sphere.

On top of all this, Concord is a paid experience, which damn-near guarantees it'll flop at retail given the low open beta numbers.

Give it about three months before this thing goes free-to-play, though that likely won't move the needle much either.
