Release Date: Q2 2016 The Buzz: The latest action adventure offering from Metroid Prime director Mark Pacini hasn't shown off a single sliver of gameplay yet, but the 4-minute E3 CGI trailer certainly got people talking. It establishes the characters and setting, but also what appears to be one of the game's chief mechanics, that your robot companion's blue spherical core can be removed and inserted into bigger and better robots throughout the game in the event that his current robotic shell is compromised (in the trailer, the robot dog self-destructs to save the protagonist). Though the premise, of a post-apocalyptic wasteland ruled by robot overlords, isn't exactly startlingly original, the central mechanic has plenty of awesome potential, and with a release set for roughly 6 months from now, it's probably about time we actually saw some gameplay footage...
