10 Useful Video Game Companions That SUCKED To Hang Out With
6. Sheva - Resident Evil 5
Throughout Resident Evil 5, protagonist Chris Redfield is accompanied by his new team partner Sheva Alomar, who provides combat assistance during the adventure.
In theory Sheva is extremely handy in helping players battle their way through the Las Plagas-infected hordes, but her helpfulness also has its severe limitations.
While Sheva is objectively useful in helping Chris reach areas that he couldn't on his own, Capcom did a terrible job developing Sheva's AI. Where to begin?
She routinely uses both ammo and healing items way too liberally, picks up proximity mines you've just laid down, and generally has little regard for her own safety.
Ultimately players will find themselves forced to babysit this "support" character far too often, enough that while Sheva was a cool character in theory, Capcom's inability to program her in an intuitive way made her an absolute drag to be around.
Hell, some fans found Sheva's presence objectionable enough that they developed a PC mod which straight-up cut her out of the game.
