A game that's likely went under the radars of many horror fans, describing Russian developers Ice-Pick Lodge's Pathalogic 2 as all-out strange and surreal would be a massive understatement to say the least.

Somewhere between the realms of a sequel and remake of the developer's critically acclaimed first entry that has since become a cult darling, Pathalogic 2 is just as bizarre and macabre as fans of the first game would expect, blending its horror with in-depth RPG and survival elements to creative an utterly unique experience.

Set in a small Russian town in the midst of a plague, the game sees players as surgeon Artemy Burakh, who returns to his hometown after receiving an urgent letter from his father. Upon arrival, however, the doctor finds himself suspected of a murder. With only a limited time to unravel the mystery, your actions really do matter in this ambitious title.

Beginning with arguably one of the most bizarre tutorial sections ever conceived as we're greeted by giant cows, plague doctors, and creepy mimes, describing this game any further would do it a great disservice.

While its deep gameplay mechanics won't be to everyone's taste, Pathalogic 2 nonetheless provides a fascinating horror experience.
