10 Video Game 100% Completions That Were Profoundly Insulting
7. Super Mario 64
And now, onto a series that did catch on.
Although collecting all 120 Stars in Super Mario 64 is still a hell of an enjoyable time and requires a ton of skill and dexterity, the reward for doing so leaves much to be desired.
Once you collect your final star, you can enter a cannon that will launch you to the top of Princess Peach's Castle. Up top, you're greeted by none other than Yoshi in his first appearance in the game.
While all of this sounds awesome at first, what follows is not awesome at all - instead of having the opportunity to ride your dinosaur friend all around the Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi just parrots a generic message from the game developers and gives you 100 lives...in a game that you just completed.
What an anticlimactic way to introduce one of a series' most beloved characters to the N64 - have him break character to be a vehicle for someone else's gratitude, then have him reward you with something that is now absolutely useless to you.
