10 Video Game 100% Completions That Were Profoundly Insulting
6. Super Mario Sunshine
Speaking of Mario...
If you thought that collecting all 120 Stars in Mario 64 was tough, then collecting all 120 Shine Sprites in Sunshine is going to feel next to impossible. This game ups the difficulty so much that it often feels unfair. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that this far-increased challenge compared to Mario 64 means that Nintendo learned from their mistakes and made a superior ending, right?
Well, despite how divisive this game is, there is one thing everyone can agree on - the ending is terrible.
For all your toil and all your trouble in getting all 120 Shine Sprites, you are gifted with...a postcard. Yep, all you get is a picture of Mario, Peach, Toad, and all his friends from the game with the words "have a relaxing vacation!" If this were an NES game, maybe it would have an excuse for "rewarding" the player with a still image at the end. But this game came out in 2002, and the journey to get this godforsaken postcard was an odyssey that even Homer would be impressed by.
They should've called this game "Super Mario Odyssey"...wait...
