10 Video Game Achievements You Literally Had To Die For

2. Gears Of War 3

The Simpsons Game
Epic

Achievement: Seriously 3.0

This Xbox-only Achievement is nothing short of an absolute nightmare to pick up, literally taking one, two or even three hundred hours of game play for most that are patient, willing or dumb enough to go for it. It just straight up sucks due to the sheer mass of time and effort involved.

Seriously 3.0 requires the player to not only reach Level 100, but also obtain every single one of the 65 Onyx Medals in the game. For those not aware, they're basically achievement medals within the game obtained by various things like winning a certain amount of matches, getting headshots, capturing opposition leaders, reviving teammates, getting an amount of kills with certain weapons... just a bunch of the usual online shooter ribbons that you see in other titles like Battlefield.

In amongst the smattering of Onyx Medals is one in particular that requires you to basically let yourself be killed. Over and over again.

The Vengeful Medal is obtained by executing a nemesis 100 times. To do this, you need to be killed by the same person five times in a row within a single match, thus becoming your nemesis, then get vengeful (so to speak) and kill them in return.

You have to do that 100 times! Meaning you need to die, at the very least, 500 times if you do it perfectly. And that's just to obtain ONE of the 65 Medals needed to get this trophy. Like I said, it sucks.
