Earthworm Jim is one of those games that likes to laugh at people for playing on lower difficulty settings. It does so with a special punishment ending for beating the game on easy mode; however, the joke is so elaborate and unique that when compared to the regular ending, it ironically feels far more rewarding.

Normally, when you beat Earthworm Jim, the only thing you get is a simple game-over screen congratulating you on your victory. It's just a still image with a couple of words and then a quick fade to black.

However, if you're playing the game's special edition and you beat it on the lowest difficulty setting, the boring game over screen is replaced with one of the developers "punishing" you by calling you out and then delivering a long and convoluted lecture about the life cycle of real-life worms.
