10 Video Game Bad Endings You Can Get By Pure Accident
2. Everyone Dies - Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The new Dragon Age: The Veilguard takes a lesson from Mass Effect 2’s school of final missions and gives you a chance to carefully organize your assault on Tearstone Island. You have to make good use of your companions and the different factions you’ve allied throughout the story, putting everyone in charge of different tasks.
And here is where another similarity to Mass Effect 2 strikes, because how effective everyone is in their task is largely dependent on how you’ve interacted with them before the final mission.
To get the good ending, you need to have completed the personal storylines of the companions you put in charge of different duties and made the correct choices during your dealings with the factions.
On top of that, you still have to assign the right people to their preferred stations, as even if the companion respects you, they may not have the skillset to finish the task.
It’s really easy to mess something up on accident without knowing how to prepare for the finale, and if you do, you get to see all of your companions die one by one, followed by the game’s gentle reminder that they weren’t the "best choice" for the job.
Judgmental much, game?
