10 Video Game Baddies You Should Be Ashamed To Kill

1. Andrew Ryan - Bioshock

A man chooses, a slave obeys. The self proclaimed leader of Rapture might appear to be the most suave megalomaniac you've ever heard, but uncovering the story of Bioshock you find the story of a man who lost it all but did what he could to keep it. I'm gonna warn of spoilers here but if you haven't played Bioshock by now and you're a fan then seriously what's wrong with you? So at the start of the game Atlas, your undersea buddy, warns of Andrew Ryans corrupting influence over the city, his use of pheromones and the people's willingness to submit due to the desire for ADAM and plasmids. Initially of course, Ryan believes you to be an enemy as he clings to the belief that his city is still a treasure trove of the world's greatest minds. To this end, he accuses you of being CIA or KGB as you move through the city and assist Atlas in his cleansing project. By the time Ryan is reached in his offices he has deduced your identity, which I will not spoil, and realizes you are not CIA or KGB. He also sees the futility of his methods to stop you as he knows exactly what you were made to do and why you came to Rapture in the first place. The thing which makes me most ashamed about killing Andrew Ryan though was that it wasn't even a fight. Most enemies put up a battle and make you want to kill them, but through all of Bioshock Ryan only antagonizes you directly a few times. You're usually caught up between him and Atlas or his splicers just see you as a walking ADAM dispenser to fuel their habits. He doesn't even come at you directly - he just invites you in and uses your 'secrets' to gain the winning position. Despite having the battle in the bag though he hands you a golf club and orders you to kill him, stating that "A man chooses, a slave obeys" Proving his point that you are nothing more than a slave as he dies.
