10 Video Game Boss Fights That Killed The Hype
1. Futoshi Shimano - Yakuza Kiwami
There are insanely hard boss fights that make the player lose all hope, and then there are those that are such joyless slogs that they can scarcely be bothered to continue.
The latter is certainly more the case in Yakuza Kiwami's first fight against Futoshi Shimano, who in a series well-known for its infuriatingly durable bosses, is perhaps the most annoyingly tedious of the lot.
Again, Shimano isn't the purely toughest boss in the franchise by any means, but he's a goddamn tank, meaning whittling his two massive life bars down can take those new to the series around half an hour.
Considering how early in the game this fight comes, the player likely can't do a whole lot of damage, probably doesn't have a stocked inventory of health items, and to rub salt in the wound, Shimano will self-heal on the regular.
As such, the fight becomes an exercise in testing the player's patience and willingness to keep going. If you made it through this with your sanity in tact, the rest of the game is a piece of cake.
