10 Video Game Boss Fights That Killed The Hype

2. Titan Joker - Batman: Arkham Asylum

Few great games have been as widely ridiculed for their astoundingly lame final boss as Batman: Arkham Asylum - a game that gets so, so much right and yet stumbles to an awkward conclusion with a toe-curlingly goofy final clash against The Joker.

We say The Joker, except the Clown Prince of Crime ends up injecting himself with the Titan compound, turning him into a steroid-fuelled action figure parody of himself that feels like somebody's teenage son designed him.

But far worse than sheer aesthetics, the design of the fight itself is painfully lazy compared to the thrilling battles throughout the rest of the game. Titan Joker spends about 20 seconds attempting to hit you before leaping up to the rafters and letting his cronies take you on.

After taking them out, you need to pull Joker back down to the arena to give him a thorough pasting, and after repeating this exact pattern twice more, it's finally over.

Titan Joker isn't difficult or particularly long, but it is a shockingly creatively bankrupt final challenge in an otherwise outstanding game. It's tough not to suspect that the developers simply ran out of time to put something more exciting and interesting together.
