10 Video Game Boss Fights That Killed The Hype
7. The Warden Eternal - Halo 5: Guardians
The Halo franchise doesn't exactly have a sterling track record where boss encounters are concerned, and this reached a hype-annihilating apex in Halo 5: Guardians, which saw the player repeatedly square off against the Warden Eternal.
Throughout the campaign, you'll fight this generic AI goober a total of three times, each instance proving more groan-inducing than the one before.
The Warden fights don't amount to much more than generic-o bullet sponge boredom, as players attempt to hit a weak spot on his back while dealing with the Warden's minions.
The third and final fight, however, ramps things up in the laziest fashion possible by having you battle three Wardens at once. There's nothing fun or interesting about these boss encounters, and the third in particular ensures the game ends on a pitiable whimper.
However, players eventually realised that it was possible to glitch your way out of that third fight, reaching a platform which allows you to skip it entirely. Glory be.
