10 Video Game Bosses Defeated By A Cutscene

1. Alien Queen - Aliens Colonial Marines

While Aliens is an undisputed classic of sci-fi cinema, its video game adaptation from Gearbox Software and other outsourced developers is one of the most notoriously bad releases in the last decade. Misrepresented and misleading to the fanbase, it was a colossal disappointment.

The few ambitious moments ACM had on offer were swamped by a mountain of poor programming, atrocious AI and limp technical presentation. In addition, the title focused far too much on battling generic Weyland-Yutani mercenaries rather than the titular monsters.

Slogging your way all the way this disappointing game is hardly worth the effort as even the climatic boss fight is a pitiful offering. After battling your way across the ruined surface of LV-426, it's time to make an escape. Much like the 1986 movie, the Xenomorph Queen prevents your escape and the player is forced to deal with it.

You'd think that the final encounter with the Queen would be a worthy showdown, perhaps with a power rig to add to the action. But much like the rest of the game, it's hopelessly disappointing. The final victory stolen from the player as they hit a couple of switches; the nastiest Xenomorph of all is ploughed out of the ship by Winter's commanding officer.
