A titan in PlayStation's exclusive pantheon, the Uncharted series has become one of the biggest entries in all of gaming. Judging by its first entry however, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a solid if imperfect entry that built a firm base for superior sequels.

Typically, the Uncharted games rely on two main antagonists and the first entry features Roman, a rival treasure hunter tipped off by Nate's friend Sully. At his side is Atoq Navarro, leader of a band of mercenaries and Roman's right hand man.

For most of the game, Atoq hovers over Roman's shoulder, seemingly guiding him towards the El Dorado treasure. However, in the final moments, he tricks the unsavoury explorer and takes the statue for himself. Reaching Navarro's tanker, it's time for a showdown; you fight your way through the most difficult enemies in the game and reach the other end for the climax.

After a relatively straightforward quick-time-event, Navarro is dragged into the ocean along with the El Dorado statue. From a cinematic standpoint, it's a suitable way to end the original Uncharted, but it also speaks volumes of how the franchise's debut hadn't reached the top of gaming yet.

Future entries in the series would add in proper final encounters.
