10 Video Game Bosses That Forced You To Play Properly

5. Jack Baker - Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

It took Capcom 20 years, but they finally constructed a video game boss that was not only terrifying, but also somewhat fair at the same time. When you come to think about it, Jack Baker is the perfect father figure in this twisted alternate virus filled reality Capcom have constructed.

If he catches up to Ethan in the early game, he’ll whip his arse in punishment for getting caught and later on ensure that everyone playing knows that you need to stand your ground and block, rather than simply throw everything you have at him or try to run. Because for some reason, Ethan feels like he's walking in through Marguerite's dinner.

Here’s guessing that he’ll most likely move at a crawl in Resident Evil Villiage. Like most of the internet, he’ll probably want Lady Dimitrescu to step on him.

But back to the boss at hand, unlike any Resident Evil game boss before him, Jack encounters don’t rely on any tropes before him. Now hiding is actually a perfectly viable option and in the basement, later on, blocking with a chainsaw will be the only way Ethan keeps his head.

There is so much more nuance to Jack and if Capcom were ever able to bring him back, fans wouldn’t complain.
