After the glory days of the Playstation 1 trilogy, players and fans worldwide were forced to deal with whatever was thrown out on the Playstation 2, you know, back when Crash was trying to be edgy, went and got tribal tattoos. Lucky for him, humanity moved past this and so could Crash.

Thankfully the Crash remake trilogy also made this a thing of the past.

So where does Cortex fit in? Well apart from being a welcomed shakeup to the formula along with Dingodile, players are treated to one final fight at the games end with this predictable foe.

First off, bravo if you ever made it this far because It’s About Time doesn’t pull punches. What makes the fight with Cortex so special, however, is the fact that the game takes everything the player has learned throughout the game and crams it into this showdown.

All four masks are at play, but at the command of Cortex, not Crash or Coco. So even those who made it through the gruelling Cortex Castle level beforehand have to deal with this one last trump card.
