5. The Butcher - Shank
If you want a game all about violence, mayhem, and a ferocious quest for revenge, then don't skip the hidden gem known as Shank. This 2D side-scrolling hack-and-slash adventure puts you in the shoes of the titular character as he hunts down those who killed his girlfriend. Sadly, his quest hits a snag almost immediately.
The first boss you face in the game is known as The Butcher. This well-named villain is a professional wrestler (AEW fans will see the irony in that) who played a role in your girlfriend's demise. As such, you grab your trusty knives and chainsaw and go to town on him.
Unfortunately, the man you just killed was not actually The Butcher.
That's right, this entry is an outlier, as the first boss of this game is an impostor, and you don't get to actually take revenge on the real Butcher until the third boss. So, technically speaking, you do fight this boss twice, it's just not the same person. Tough luck, fake Butcher.
