10 Video Game Characters Who Broke Into Song

3. GLaDOS (Portal)

As part of the Orange Box games, portal came out of nowhere and swiftly soared into our hearts.

Prompting a sequel as well as the overdone internet meme of ‘the cake is a lie’, this game has become a staple in pop culture. With your own character completely silent throughout the entire game, and your only interaction being between killer robots and the system’s controller, GLaDOS, you’d be forgiven for going through the game thinking there wouldn’t be any breaking into song.

However, just as you beat the game and the credits roll, we get to hear GLaDOS singing in a very computerised and auto-tuned voice, and the song is great. Like the last entry, this is a song from beyond the grave, containing lyrics about how you killed the robot.

Still Alive created the horrible idea that GLaDOS is still going and sets up the sequel. It’s also incredibly catchy and I wouldn’t recommend listening to it unless you’re ready to be singing it all week.
