3. Geoffrey - Disgaea 3: Absence Of Justice
The Alfred to a semi-uncontrollable Batman, you'll likely form a strange sort of attachment to Mao's butler Geoffrey throughout the course of Disgaea 3. He's one of the few calm presences in a collection of excitable little anime warriors, and his voice actor also sounds like a cool wizard, which always helps.
As it turns out, though, Geoffrey is less a cool wizard butler, and more a total ass. This becomes apparent when he reveals his true identity to Mao - that of the superhero Sir Aurum. Having defeated Mao's father two-hundred years prior, he disguised himself in order to train the young demon to be an opponent worthy of defeating.
He also left said father trapped as a spirit and unable to die, which is kind of a cold move from someone who is supposed to be the hero of the two.
So, in short, Aurum spent two-hundred years raising a demon child in order to slaughter him mercilessly the minute he was finally "worthy'. It's no real wonder Mao had anger issues, really.
