10 Video Game Characters Whose Fates Are Never Resolved
7. Pey'J - Beyond Good & Evil
This year will mark 17 years since the exceptional Beyond Good and Evil was first released, and three since gamers were promised the followup so many desperately crave. Come on Ubisoft, get on with it!
Developer bashing aside, the original game saw the central protagonist, Jade, and her anthropomorphic pig friend Pey'j taking on a propaganda machine that acted as a front for a human trafficking operation led by invading aliens who need souls to feed on.
Complex stuff, but Jade and her allies are triumphant in the end, leading to the demise of the alien invaders and resurrection of all those possessed - happy days.
However, a post credits scene reveals that Pey'j the pig is playing host to one of the alien parasites as the screen fades to black, resulting in an infuriating ending as the character's fate is one we may never know.
Why? Because the promised "second" entry for BG&E has been confirmed as a prequel, rather than a continuation of what went down. That means the next game is unlikely to make mention of any of the original characters.
Nightmare.
