10 Video Game Characters Whose Fates Are Never Resolved

6. Galen Marek/Starkiller - The Force Unleashed II

Batman Arkham Knight sad
LucasArts

We all know, for a fact, that the canon ending of the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed saw Galen Marek fall victim to Emperor Palpatine's brutal force lightning assault and die at the hands of the Dark Lord of the Sith - no longer canon according to Disney but this was the catalyst that sparked the formation of the Rebellion; nice one Galen.

However, the phenomenal success of the title prompted a sequel led by a clone of the fallen Jedi who struggles to come to terms with who and what he actually is. Over the course of a painfully short story; Marek canonically faces down Darth Vader and refuses to kill him - this sees Vader captured for interrogation and Marek gets the girl.

Obviously, LucasArts had to leave the door open to another sequel meaning Marek's 'happily ever after' fly by scene sees Boba Fett's Slave I pursuing the protagonists in his usual menacing style.

Had The Force Unleashed III been developed and released prior to Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012; we might have gotten closure on the fate of Galen Marek but the media moguls wrote off the Expanded Universe as 'Legends' soon after they took control so this one is in the 'never' pile.

Remember, only a Sith deals in absolutes...
