10 Video Game Cheats Everyone Used

6. "ABACABB" (Blood Code) - Mortal Kombat

Contra Konami Code
Midway

It's no secret that the original Mortal Kombat proved massively controversial upon release due to its graphic violence, and so when the arcade hit was ported to home systems in 1993, steps were made to reduce the game's explicit content.

The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version removed the blood and massively toned down the fatalities, while the SNES version went even further by replacing the blood with "sweat."

Though those who owned a Game Genie could revert the sweat back to blood on the SNES, the Mega Drive version proved far more popular for one major reason: the blood code.

By simply inputting "ABACABB," the game's blood and also its uncut fatalities were restored, allowing players access to Midway's fully nauseating original vision.
