10 Video Game Choices That Seem Important (But Are Actually POINTLESS)
8. Run Away With The Money - Batman: Arkham City
The Batman Arkham games are pretty linear for the most part, which is why when a title from the series throws an actual choice at you, it feels quite important. Otherwise, why would the game step out of its comfort zone and present you with a dilemma?
Well, if it's Arkham City we're talking about, the answer is to waste your time.
The game's Catwoman DLC ends with the titular superthief facing a difficult choice that the player has to make for her. She can either run away from the city with Two-Face's loot she's been trying to steal the entire game or go save Batman from danger.
It feels like the decision could be a fun "what if" scenario, showcasing what could've happened if Catwoman didn't save the day, but no. The choice is completely pointless.
Picking the money over Batman doesn't present you with any alternate ending showing Batman's demise. Instead, it quickly fades to black and presents you with the choice again until you make the right call.
Aka—the only call the game wants you to make.
