10 Video Game Choices That Seem Important (But Are Actually POINTLESS)
4. Sparing Twinblade - Fable
The original Fable game definitely didn't deliver on the amount of freedom and lasting consequences its developer, Peter Molyneux, had promised.
Still, there are some events in Fable that fall short even by the kind of pointless choices that do exist in the game, like the painfully worthless decision after the duel with Twinblade.
Twinblade is a bandit chief that the hero needs to fight in order to find their sister. After you defeat him, you get an option to spare him or kill him, but aside from rewarding you with good or evil points, your choice changes nothing about the course of the story.
You see, when you kill Twinblade, his group will start sending assassins after you to avenge their fallen leader.
You might then think that maybe sparing the warlord will let you avoid the random assassin situation, but no. The game still sends ambushes on you, only this time it's Twinblade himself hiring them, trying to save face in front of his crew.
Really? That's how you're going to repay someone sparing your life?
Well, maybe the real point of this choice is the satisfaction of killing an ungrateful wrongun.
