10 Video Game Classics That Desperately Deserve Remakes
2. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time & Majora's Mask
No, the 3DS versions of both games - as wonderful as they are - don't count. Those aren't remakes, but updates. It's a feat in itself that Nintendo were able to cram both games onto a puny little SD card for a handheld console as opposed to the brick-like cartridges of the N64, but it's also a reminder of just how far technology has come in fifteen years. Termina, Hyrule, the hypnotising tunes of Link's Ocarina - even Ganondorf (but not Navi, she can do one); all of it deserves to be rebuilt, brick-by-brick, pixel-by-pixel. Who knows, the 3DS versions could very well be Nintendo secretly testing the waters for potential interest in complete remakes. But that's unlikely, given that the Wii U is still waiting for its own Legend Of Zelda game to début after various worrying delays. Honestly, we'll probably have to wait until Ninty are on the brink of bankruptcy before they'll consider remaking either title as a means to recoup their losses - such is the lasting popularity of them both.
