10 Video Game Classics That Desperately Deserve Remakes
10. Panzer Dragoon Saga
Remember that really obscure wave of games back in the 90s and early 2000s that had what, at first, seemed like really obtuse control schemes? Yeah, I'm talking about the on-rails shooter. The genre is pretty much dead in the water today, but over a decade ago, it was the go-to mechanic if you wanted to sell your product as a unique alternative. The original Star Fox games, cult-classic Killer7 and of course, Panzer Dragoon Saga are all famous proponents of the system where directing your character, vehicle or dragon was left entirely up to the computer to decide while you were tasked with shooting and killing any living thing that dared to cross your path. Now, you're probably going to bring up the poorly-received Xbox One release title - Crimson Dragon - as an argument against remaking a game such as this, but that catastrophe was a result of the game originally being a Kinect-controlled title. It's best we just forget about its existence entirely, to be honest. Panzer Dragon Saga, though? You can bet your sweet behind that it deserves a total remake, if only to remind the current generation that such games can actually be good.
