10 Video Game Clichés Everyone Is Sick Of
8. Flora Made Of Concrete
To be fair on this complaint, things are getting a lot better when it comes to what video games are capable of technically, and yet especially in open world games it’s still a dice-roll as to how solid the greenery is.
While some games let bushes be prime camping locations or gorgeous high-def scenery wafting in the breeze, things weren’t always current-gen capable and somehow we’re still getting trees and hedges that will stop you in your tracks like you just hit solid concrete. Of course, now that cliche is becoming less common we’ve got a new problem which is the wild inconsistency of whether a tree will fold under your speeding vehicle or put up a hell of a fight wrapping you around it before you can pull off a sick handbrake turn.
Much like fall damage, the solidity of bushes is just something you need to check for yourself with every new open world game. For better or worse, we’re used to it.
