10 Video Game Clichés Everyone Is Sick Of

2. Boss Death Fake Outs & Multiple Stages

Much like an arena room, almost nobody goes into a boss fight in any game from any genre anymore expecting a one and done situation.

While once upon a time it was a huge shock to realise a boss had a second stage and you felt your blood run cold as their health bar refilled or they turned into some kind of gigantic dragon, this has now just become synonymous with playing video games.

This one is actually so cliched at this point that if you encountered the main boss of a game and it was a one and done type situation it would genuinely be pretty surprising so maybe that’s the way of breaking the mould on this one.
