10 Video Game Collector's Editions That Were Total Rip-Offs
7. Halo 3 - Legendary Edition
If you were told that the Legendary Edition of Halo 3 would include a replica of Master Chief's helmet, you'd assume it was wearable, right? About that...
This is the big problem with the Legendary Edition. As cool as having a replica of the famous helmet is, the fact that it can't be worn is just a massive disappointment. All you have to do is look online, and you'll see plenty of people who were burned by this one.
The Legendary Edition also had a much bigger problem because it also offered a metal steelbook that inadvertently wrecked many customer's game disks. The thing was so loose that disks often just fell out and scratched against the metal case, which is ridiculously bad planning on Microsoft's part.
When you consider that this was back in 2007, charging $130 for this is actually pretty expensive, especially when compared to other collectors editions of the time.
Halo fans would probably argue against this one, but there's just no excuse for broken disks and a useless helmet.
