10 Video Game Collector's Editions That Were Total Rip-Offs

6. Red Dead Redemption 2 - Collector's Box

The Witcher 3
Rockstar Games

Considering Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't even out yet, this is a preemptive entry but it's been made pretty clear that this won't be worth it.

This one retails for $100, which doesn't sound too bad, but it doesn't actually include the game. This is a rather annoying trend in collectors editions at the moment, as it requires you to make separate purchases if you want to get everything.

Besides that, this collector's box seems to be made up of absolute tat. Unless you really want a hat, a coin, some playing cards and a useless steel box then you can absolutely avoid this one.

Rockstar's collectors editions are never too great in the first place (more on that later), but this is really taking the cake.

Even ignoring this collector's box, Rockstar have been taking the mick with Red Dead Redemption 2's special editions, as it costs $100 before you can get a bloody steelbook with the game.
