10 Video Game Collector's Editions That Were Total Rip-Offs

4. Grand Theft Auto V - Collectors Edition

The Witcher 3
Rockstar Games

Rockstar has a habit of getting away with making their collectors edition as expensive as possible whilst including nothing of note.

Grand Theft Auto V had a particularly egregious collectors edition which included a map, a baseball cap, a steelbook and a lock bag. All of this pretty meaningless stuff retailed for $150, which is absolutely nuts.

The most interesting thing out of the whole thing was the baseball cap, and even that was pretty plain in the grand scheme of things. The blueprint map was only cool with a blacklight, and the security deposit bag was just pretty pointless.

Considering Rockstar could very easily take all of this junk out and put in a cool character statue, it's a shame that people keep getting excited for this stuff.

The trick here is that the hype for each of Rockstar's releases mean that people will eat up whatever they put out without anyone batting an eyelid.

At least the game was good.
