10 Video Game Developers No Longer Making Games For YOU

8. Bethesda Softworks

RIP Bioware
Bethesda

What They've Done: The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dishonoured, Wolfenstein

What They're Up to Now: Breaking Fallout, DOOM and uh... Rage 2?

Bethesda Softworks has been around for some thirty years now, but it was only in recent years that they've taken off. Acquiring franchises like DOOM and Fallout, as well as their own Elder Scrolls series, the 2000's saw a massive rise for the developer.

Skyrim has sold millions, as has the recently rebooted DOOM series, with Eternal's recent release being anything to go back.

Yet whilst it may seem like everything is great, there has been some gaffs along the way. Most recently in Fallout '76, proving that fans didn't really want a live service Fallout.

Dishonoured seems have dried out, as has the recently rebooted Prey series. Even Wolfenstein's return was swiftly knocked from grace with the panned Youngblood last year.

So where are Bethesda going now? Are they going to bring back decent single player adventures? Given the fates of The Evil Within and Dishonoured, probably not. But have they learnt from the Fallout debacle, especially with Obsidian showing them up with The Outer Worlds? Let's hope so.
