10 Video Game Endings That Pissed EVERYONE Off
5. The Ultimate Cliffhanger - Crysis
Crysis is a fantastic game with a hell of an ending, so long as you played it some time after 2011 when the sequel was already out and you didn’t have to wait four whole years for the original’s cliffhanger ending to resolve itself.
Not only is the ending extraordinarily abrupt, you’ll run up against it after spending just 10 hours in the futuristic FPS.
In short, we can call Crysis’ ending Halo 2-esque. The set up for the finale has our gang facing off against a Ceph warship. Nomad destroys the Ceph warship, Psycho flies in to save Helena and Nomad and the latter insists they need to keep fighting as there are still Ceph on the island. Then you get a transmission from Prophet who is battling inside the energy field on the island.
You’ll be absolutely amped to do a bunch more alien fighting at this point, your tac cannon at the ready, but just like that, it’s all over. You’re left to watch the credits roll with a laundry list of unfinished business and unanswered questions.
It is a testament to just how great this game is that players were mostly pissed off because they just wanted more of it, though.
