10 Video Game Endings You Weren't Supposed To See

7. The Radio Antenna Post-Credits Scene - Assassin's Creed Mirage

Tomb Raider Underworld
Ubisoft & YouTube: Sliderv2

Shortly following the release of the recent Assassin's Creed Mirage, a discarded post-credits scene was uncovered by dataminer Sliderv2, revealing a contemporary radio antenna hidden in the game's ninth century desert.

This is a surprising reveal given that recent entries into the franchise have massively de-emphasised the modern day component.

Audio files discovered alongside the cutscene further depict a pair of "animus operators" discussing the events of the series, and most tellingly referring to the 21st century as "ancient history," implying them to be humans from the far-flung future.

It's unclear why such a tantalising tease for the future direction of the series was cut, especially with the scene being fully rendered and voice-acted. Presumably, Ubisoft either decided not to go this route or felt that it was giving too much away to fans.

All the same, if they didn't want players to find it, they definitely shouldn't have left it in the game's files.
