10 Video Game Endings You Weren't Supposed To See

2. Lara Leaves Amanda For Dead - Tomb Raider: Underworld

The officially released ending of Tomb Raider: Underworld sees Lara Croft and her frenemy Amanda Evert realising they must team up in order to defeat the evil Jacqueline Natla.

After defeating Natla, Amanda briefly attempts to reinitiate a fight, but when Lara refuses to engage, the pair simply go their separate ways. That's it.

Except, dataminers soon enough uncovered an alternate ending which offers up a much meaner conclusion to Lara and Amanda's feud.

After the duo escape the Nepalese temple, Amanda tries to kill Lara by bashing her brains in with a rock, but Lara sees her coming and swiftly shoots her in the leg.

Lara can't find it in herself to finish Amanda off, though, instead walking away while a wounded Amanda is left to succumb to the frosty elements - despite her failed attempt to continue pursuing Lara.

While there's an agreeable nastiness to this ending, it does feel a bit out of place after Lara and Amanda put their differences aside to fight Natla, so it's easy to appreciate why it was cut.
