10 Video Game Fan Theories That Change EVERYTHING

2. Skyrim And Fallout Are Set In The Same Universe - Elder Scrolls/Fallout

Both the Elder Scrolls and the Fallout franchises have more in common than most gamers might think. Both carrying the Bethesda charm of unpolished glitches and meme-worthy features, their true success has come from the vast open worlds both franchises have created over the years. From Morrowind to Skyrim, the fantastical elements of the Elder Scrolls have become iconic, and the post-apocalyptic worlds of Fallout have given birth to some seriously eerie locations of their own.

Two very different sets of worlds to be sure, but could one fan theory point to there being more being buried underneath the surface?

There's a small plant found on Prydwen, the airship commanded by the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout 4 that looks remarkably like the Nirnroot plant from the Elder Scrolls. The research entries on this experimental plant are labelled as 'NRT' and actually heal the player should they choose to ingest them, just like Nirnroot does when used in a potion in the Elder Scrolls.

It's unlikely that Bethesda are ever going to push the boat out too much and launch a Fallout/Elder Scrolls crossover any time soon, so this might be the best any fans of the two franchises are ever going to get.
