10 Video Game Fights Developers Didn’t Want You To Win

9. The Bloat - Binding Of Isaac

The place Binding of Isaac really shines is in itself great and gross boss fights. Each boss requires you to master dodging a different fighting style, and - for a game initially made in Flash - the variety of them is simply sublime.

Except for the Bloat, of course. This unhappy little critter is the subject of much fan hate, as even seasoned players find him unbearable to fight. Because the Bloat shoots laser beams, like many bosses you'll find in the game - but unlike those bosses, it just straight up doesn't telegraph the move.

And it'll do this move more or less every time you stand either in front of it or to its side, which you will definitely get caught in unless you've gotten some crazy upgrades to your speed. Oh, and unless you've gotten a diagonal shooting upgrade, you'll need to stand in his laser areas in order to shoot him. So, you're gonna get hit, and you're gonna get hit a lot.

Did we mention his eyes are bouncing around the arena the entire time? Because, yeah, there's also that.
