10 Video Game Fights You Didn't Know How To End

8. Lara's Doppelganger - Tomb Raider

Batman Arkham City Mr Freeze
Crystal Dynamics

Late in the original Tomb Raider - and in its glossy remake, Tomb Raider: Anniversary - Lara makes it to Atlantis and ends up facing off against a horrifying skinless doppelganger of herself.

The double mirrors Lara's movements exactly, and worse still, any attempts to attack the grotesque clone simply reflect the damage back to Lara herself, ensuring an aggressive approach will simply kill the both of you.

And so, the solution to defeating the doppelganger is actually one of co-operation: you need to manipulate the double into throwing itself into a fiery pit.

In the Anniversary version, you additionally need to co-operate with the clone and complete some puzzle elements in-sync in order to set up the clone's molten demise.

For many young players in particular, though, this encounter really stumped them back in the day.
