7. Brute Force
This is a title that deserves far more attention, and one that if Microsoft resurrect from the original Xbox could help tag-team their catalogue alongside Gears of War into third-person shooter domination. Playing as a range of characters all with their own special abilities you'd have to combine them to get through levels, able to switch on the fly. It's a real wonder this didn't catch on more than it did, as chances are if you owned an Xbox you at least gave it a shot as a random purchase before Gears of War became the go-to blaster of choice. The squad approach to third-person combat is something that's seen a real variance in success, but Brute Force got the balance just right between fun characters and weapons that were just plain fun to mess around with - it's simply a case of giving this one another shot in a climate more starved of the genre itself.
