10 Video Game Franchises Netflix NEEDS To Develop

5. Grand Theft Auto

Assassins creed
Rockstar Games

Out of every other game in this list, Grand Theft Auto might be one of the most rich with opportunity.

A series surrounding a band of crazy criminals is one thing, but the worlds constructed by Rockstar Games is what makes this so interesting. In the GTA franchise, we've been granted a realistic satire of the day that provides the backdrop for heists, assassinations, car chases and sprawling gun battles.

For a Grand Theft Auto series to be constructed, the show wouldn't even need to borrow directly from the games. Characters and plot lines could inspire some elements of the show, but it is the wide world and the actions that take place there that we would be excited about.

A ten-part series that focuses on a handful of crooks carrying out schemes and crimes sounds fun on its own. But if Netflix were to muscle in their influence we could be gifted with a series with so many hidden jokes and deep satirical commentary.

A show where, as the characters are talking on their way to a heist, we can hear the faintness of the radio splutter out worrisome adverts and commercials for items that only exist in this universe, is one that could be thrilling and hilarious at the same time.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
