10 Video Game Franchises That Need To Die
7. Need For Speed
Need for Speed is one of the best selling game franchises of all time, with 24 mainline games coming out since its debut in 1994. It has sped around in quality, but has been mostly solid for most of its run.
So why should the series drive off into the sunset? Simple; there's just no where else for the series to go.
Going from arcade to more realistic gameplay, having police chases be the focus, just having the sport of the race be the focus, having an open world, not having an open world, having a full reboot, even having a game where you could run around outside of your car in dramatic chases, the series has done it all.
Which means there's nothing else to do.
The series has crashed into a wall, and there's seemingly nothing else it can accomplish without going down the dark path of repeating the same game over and over and over again. Best to leave it in the garage before it becomes a shell of its former self.
