10 Video Game Franchises That Need To Die
4. Postal
Postal got its fame and infamy from its second entry, Postal 2. Released in 2003, the game was incredibly controversial for its violence and humor, but that same violence and humor was praised by fans, as they enjoyed the freedom they had to do what they wanted.
However, developers Running with Scissors decided to make a Postal 3. Or, they decided to make someone else make a Postal 3. For whatever reason they decided to outsource the majority of the game to a developer called Akella.
The game released, and it was just absolutely terrible. Writing was worse than ever; crass with no sign of being clever, gameplay was awful with a new third-person viewpoint, and the game was eventually taken off of storefronts, at least temporarily.
The game was retconned when they released an expansion to Postal 2 in 2015, and then they decided to try again with Postal 4 in 2022, claiming beforehand that "it's not going to suck like Postal 3."
It turned out though, that was a lie.
Postal 4's humor was as dated and unfunny as ever, gameplay was still terrible, and performance was abysmal. Just leave the series in the past where it belongs.
